In order to ensure the security of your company data, your company can configure Security Compliance Checks that your device must pass to use Venn.
If your company has enabled the Login password security compliance check, your device must have a login password set. This compliance check is used to ensure that if someone physically gains access to your computer they cannot get into your account without your password.
- If your computer passes this check, your Compliance Status will say Login requires a password.
- If your computer fails this check, your Compliance Status will say Login does not require a password. This indicates that the user account on the device does not have a password set.
To comply with this requirement and/or resolve the failed check, ensure the user account on the device has a password:
If you failed this security check:
- Sign out and close the Workplace app.
- Follow the instructions below to attempt to fix the issue.
- Restart your computer.
- Sign in to Workplace and wait for the compliance checks to finish processing.
- If the check fails again, contact your IT department.
Require a Password for Windows 10 & 11
- Click on the Start menu.
- Click Settings.
- Click Accounts.
- Click Sign-in options.
- Under Password, click the Change button and follow the steps.

Require a Password for macOS
Enabling FileVault will also resolve this issue on Mac.
- Click the Apple menu.
- Click System Settings.
- Click Users & Groups.
- Click the Info button next to your user name on the right.
- Click Change.
- Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
- If no password was set, this should be left blank.
- Enter your new password in the New Password field, then enter it again in the Verify field.
- Enter a hint to help you remember the password.
- Click Change Password.
