Manage Venn User Access with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure) as Your IdP

Once Entra is set up as your Venn Identity Management solution, user access to Venn will be managed in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

Provision User Access to Venn in Entra

You can grant access to Venn for users or groups in Entra. The user or group of users will be created in Venn along with any backend resources they require. If a group does not already exist in Venn, the group will be created and the users will be added to the group.

Group provisioning of users requires Entra ID Premium Licensing.

To grant access to a user or group:

  1. Log in to the Entra portal.
  2. Navigate to Identity > Applications > Enterprise applications > All applications.
  3. Locate and click on the Workplace enterprise app in the application list.

  4. Assign users to the Workplace enterprise application following the steps in this article
  5. Once you assign the application to users or groups, they will be provisioned in Venn.
By default, Entra pushes user information to Venn every 40 minutes, so access will be provisioned anywhere from 0-40 minutes after users are assigned to the Workplace enterprise application in Entra. Navigate to Entra > Provisioning page and select Provision on demand.

Remove User Access from Venn in Entra

If you remove a user from a group from the Workplace application in Entra, they will no longer have access to Venn. Once you unassign the user from the Workplace Enterprise app in Entra, you should also delete their user account in Venn following the steps in this article.

Additionally, if you delete a user from Entra when they leave your organization, they will also be deleted from Venn.
