Install a Work-Managed Browser on a Mobile Device

Once you have enrolled in Venn on your Android or Apple device, you will need to download a work-managed web browser to access work websites.

Venn supports Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as work-managed browsers for both Android and iOS.

Even if you already have a browser app installed on your device, you need to download a work-managed version from the Workplace app following the steps below.

Install a Work-Managed Browser on Your Android Device

To install a work-managed browser on your Android device:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen, tap the Work tab, and tap to open Workplace.Android_WorkProfile_Workplace.png
  2. Tap the Apps tab.
  3. Locate and tap the desired browser in the app list.
    You will be redirected to the Google Play Store in the Work Profile.
  4. Tap Install or Enable to download and install the browser application.

The app will be installed and added to your Work Profile. Work apps are marked with a briefcase. To access work apps, swipe up from the bottom of your screen, tap the Work tab, and tap to open the app.

Once you have downloaded your work-managed web browser, follow these steps to enable password autofill for the Work Profile. Enabling password autofill will allow your saved passwords to auto-populate in your work-managed browser.

Install a Work-Managed Browser on Your Apple Device

Supported Browsers on iOS

- Microsoft Edge

Due to Apple's focus on security and maintaining app integrity, iOS does not allow you to install personal and work-managed versions of the same application. For any app you plan to use on your Apple device, you must only have it downloaded as a personal app (installed from the App Store) or work-managed app (installed from Workplace).

Venn supports both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge as work-managed browsers. If you use one of those browsers for personal browsing on your Apple device, use the other as your work-managed browser.

If you already have the browser you'd like to use as a work-managed browser downloaded on your phone, you must delete it before reinstalling it through Workplace.

To install a work-managed browser on your Apple device:

  1. Tap to open the Workplace app.

  2. Tap the Apps tab.
  3. Locate and tap the desired browser in the app list.
  4. Tap Install in the slide up modal.
  5. You will be prompted to install the browser application.  Tap Install when the prompt appears.

The app will be added to your home screen.

Once you have downloaded your work-managed web browser, follow these steps to enable password autofill for that browser. Enabling password autofill will allow your saved passwords to auto-populate in your work-managed browser.
