Set Up Venn on an Apple Mobile Device

Venn secures work and protects your privacy by isolating business activity from any personal use on the same device. In addition to your computer, you can use Venn’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) software on your iOS 15+ Apple device.

In order to access your work-related data on your Apple mobile device, you will need to enroll your device.

Set Up Venn on Your Apple Device

Before starting this process, if you have already downloaded Venn's Workplace app on your mobile device, you must delete it.

If you currently use the Workplace mobile app to complete multifactor authentication when you log in to Venn on your computer, your Company Manager may need to approve your pending session during the mobile enrollment process because you will not have the app available to complete multifactor authentication.

To set up Venn on your Apple device:

  1. On your Apple device, open Settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap General.
  3. Scroll down and tap VPN & Device Management.

  4. Before signing in, you may be required to provide biometric authentication using Face ID or Touch ID and/or comply with a one-hour security delay if you have the Stolen Device Protection feature active on your Apple device.
    These security measures are designed to prevent someone who has stolen your device and knows your passcode from making critical changes to your account or device. You can temporarily disable Stolen Device Protection if you do not want to comply with the one-hour security delay. To learn more, see this Apple Support article.
  5. Tap Sign in to Work or School Account…
  6. Input the work email address that you use to log in to Venn and click Continue.

  7. Complete the login process using the username and password that you use to sign in to Venn or sign in via your IDP (such as Entra or Okta) as prompted. You may be required to verify the sign-in by completing multifactor authentication.
  8. Tap Sign in to iCloud.
  9. Tap Continue.

  10. Complete the login process using the username and password that you use to sign in to Venn or sign in via your IDP (such as Entra or Okta) as prompted. You may be required to verify the sign-in by completing multifactor authentication. 
    • If you use the Workplace mobile app to complete multifactor authentication, your Company Manager may need to approve your pending session.
  11. Depending on your organization’s configuration, you may need to complete additional login steps through Microsoft.
    • If prompted, click Continue when asked if you trust venn.com.
    • If prompted, approve the sign in request using the Authenticator app. If you do not have the Authenticator app, click I can’t use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now in order to have the multifactor authentication code sent via text.
  12. When prompted, tap Allow Remote Management to allow your organization to manage work apps on your mobile device. You may need to input your device password to confirm.
  13. When the App Installation pop-up appears, click Install.

After you have installed the Workplace app, follow the steps below to access the app for the first time.

Access the Workplace App for the First Time

To access the Workplace app, tap the Workplace icon on your home screen.

Then, the app will walk you through the following welcome steps:

  • Notifications: Click the link on this page to allow notifications from the Workplace app. These alerts will allow you to quickly and easily complete multifactor authentication using the Workplace app.
  • Face ID or Touch ID: Click the link on this page to enable Face ID or Touch ID to make accessing the Workplace app quick and easy. If you do not want to use biometric authentication, click Use Passcode.
  • Install Work Apps: On this page, any applications that your company has configured as required apps will be downloaded. You can also click to install any apps from the list that you want to use for work on your mobile device. At a minimum, you should download a work-managed internet browser (either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge) on your mobile device. Once complete, click Continue.

  • Enable Password Manager: Follow the onscreen steps to enable password autofill from the Workplace app. Learn more about turning on Password Autofill for Workplace. Once complete, click Continue
  • Create work pin_: Click Create work pin_ to set a 6-digit Personal Identification Number that lets you quickly log into the mobile app.

Now, you can start using Venn on your Apple device.
