Access the Work Profile

The Work Profile contains Venn's Workplace app and all work applications managed by your company.

  1. On your Android device, swipe up from your launcher or select Apps to access your All Apps drawer.
  2. You will notice that there are two tabs: Personal (on the left) and Work (on the right). Click Work to access the Work Profile.
    • On some devices, the tabs will be at the bottom of the screen.

When you open the Workplace app, you will be prompted to log in using your Workplace Pin, device password, or other biometric authentication method you have enabled.

Your Company's Device Policy

In order to ensure the security of your company data, your company may choose to put Security Compliance Checks in place that your device must pass in order to use Venn.

When you access the Workplace app or any managed work apps on your mobile device, Venn checks your device to ensure that it complies with your company's requirements before you can gain access to your work.

Access Work Apps and Websites on Your Mobile Device

Once you have set up Venn on your Android device, you will install and use apps in the Work Profile to access work apps, websites, and files on your mobile device.

You must install work-managed versions of native mobile apps on your mobile device before you can access them using Venn. To start, we recommend that all users install a work-managed web browser, Office 365 apps (if your organization uses the Microsoft suite), and any other apps you use for work.

You can tap Apps in the Workplace app to see the full list of apps and websites that your company has made available for work on mobile.

  • Once installed, you can access work-managed apps by going to the Work Profile and tapping the app icon.

Work and Personal Use on the Same Mobile Device

Venn was designed to isolate and protect work activity from personal use on the same device.

Apps open in the Work Profile send internet traffic over a separate, encrypted connection called your Private Company Gateway before it is routed to and from the internet, ensuring that your company data is protected. Learn more about how Venn protects your work internet traffic.

Applications that you open outside of the Work Profile are completely isolated from work applications, almost as though they were running on separate devices. Venn does not monitor, track, access, or record any of your personal data or activities, including private personal information, browsing activities, and personal files. Your Company's Restrictions

In order to secure company data, your company may choose to put Data Loss Prevention policies in place that restrict what you can and can’t do in Blue Border. For example, your company may set a policy that requires your device to have a password enabled.

You can see your company's Data Loss Prevention Policies on the Policies page of the Workplace app.

Policies with a lock to the left of them are current restrictions that your company has in place. These policies only apply in work-managed applications.
