Set Up Venn on an Android Mobile Device

Venn secures work and protects your privacy by isolating business activity from any personal use on the same device. In addition to your computer, you can use Venn’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) software on your Android 10+ device.

In order to access your work-related data on your Android mobile device, you will need to enroll your device.

Set Up Venn on Your Android Device

  1. On a computer, navigate to login.venn.com and sign in with valid credentials. You may be required to verify the sign-in by completing the multifactor authentication on your mobile device.
  2. Click the Account menu then click Enroll my device.

  3. Click Generate the QR code. A QR code will appear on the screen.  If the QR code expires, click Generate the QR code again.
  4. Open the camera application on the Android device you would like to enroll and scan the QR code.
    The QR code will only open in Google Chrome. You may need to temporarily change your default browser to open it.
  5. When you point the camera at the QR code on your computer screen, a link will appear below the QR code. Tap the link to open it.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Work Profile. The Venn app, Workplace, will be downloaded automatically. Learn more about the Work Profile.

After you have set up your Work Profile, follow the steps below to access the Workplace app for the first time.

Access the Workplace App for the First Time

To access the Workplace app, swipe up from the bottom of your screen, tap the Work tab, and tap to open Workplace.

The first time you log in to the Workplace app, you will be prompted to log in using the same username and password you used during enrollment. 

Then, the app will walk you through the following welcome steps:

  • Notifications: Click the link on this page to allow notifications from the Workplace app. These alerts will allow you to quickly and easily complete multifactor authentication using the Workplace app.
  • Install Work Apps: On this page, any applications that your company has configured as required apps will be downloaded. You can also click to install any apps from the list that you want to use for work on your mobile device. Once complete, click Continue.

  • Enable Password Manager: Follow the onscreen steps to enable password autofill from the Workplace app. Learn more about turning on Password Autofill for Workplace. Once complete, click Continue
  • Create work pin_: Click Create work pin_ to set a 6-digit Personal Identification Number that lets you quickly log into the mobile app.

Once you have completed the welcome steps, follow the steps below to connect to the Private Company Gateway.

Connect to the Private Company Gateway

Venn protects your work internet traffic by sending it over a separate, encrypted connection called your Private Company Gateway before it is routed to and from the internet or your company’s corporate network.

Your company may restrict access to work-related applications and data, requiring that you connect your mobile device to your organization's Private Company Gateway in order to access it. You only need to connect to the Private Company Gateway once. 

To connect to the Private Company Gateway:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen, tap the Work tab, and tap to open Workplace.

  2. In Workplace, tap the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Connectivity from the menu.
  4. Tap Connect.

Once you have connected to the Private Company Gateway, follow the steps below to delete the Workplace app from your personal profile if you had previously downloaded it. If you hadn't previously downloaded the Workplace app, you can start using Venn on your Android device.

Delete the Workplace App from Your Personal Profile

If you had previously downloaded the Workplace app on your mobile device, it will remain under your Personal Profile. We recommend that you delete the app from your Personal Profile once you have installed and logged in to the Workplace app from your Work Profile. Going forward, you should exclusively use the Workplace app under your Work Profile. 

Now, you can start using Venn on your Android device.
