E:104.06 - Sharing a File in Workplace for Browsers

If file sharing has been turned on for your company, you can share a file with a co-worker or a guest user. 

Sign in to Workplace for Windows or macOS, then click the icon-genericbrowser.svg icon, which will take you to Workplace for Browsers.

Share a File

Click Files and navigate to the file you wish to share. Hover your mouse over the file click the Share button.

From here, you will select the appropriate option:

Public: For non-secure files, simply copy the link to the clipboard and paste into an email.

Tracked: See the recipient's mobile number in the Activity Log. This is a helpful feature when collaborating with co-workers and clients.

Private: Use this link for sensitive documents.

Copy the link to the clipboard and share it via email, chat, SMS, or whatever other method you prefer.

NOTE: Your company may have disabled the creation of Public Links, or they may have turned off File Sharing Links completely, depending on your company's configuration. Please contact your Company Manager for more information.

View Your Shared Files

Select Shared files in the left sidebar to view all of your shared files.

View the activity of a shared file

  1. In Shared files, click the Linked icon next to the file you want to view.

  2. Select View Activity.

  3. You will see all activity for the shared file.

Stop sharing a file

  1. Click the X icon next to the file you no longer want to share.

  2. Click Break link in the popup window to stop sharing the file.
