Browser Policies Data Loss Prevention Policy

Admins within organizations using Secure Enclave can manage Chrome and Edge browser policies via the admin console. This article guides you through the steps to modify and manage the browser policies.

Modifying the browser policies 

Accessing the policy

  1. From the admin console's left navigation, select Policy admin, then DLP Policy.
  2. Locate the Custom browser policy object for the target policy and click Change.

Editing the policies

  1. In the policy editor that appears, select Custom to enable editing of the browser policies.

  2. Choose the platform and browser, then click Edit <browser name> policy.

  3. The input field that appears accepts JSON format only.

  4. Click Apply to save the changes to your policy.

Exporting Browser Policies from Chrome and Edge

If your organization has previously configured Chrome or Edge policies, you can easily transition those settings into the Secure Enclave. Both Chrome and Edge allow for exporting the existing policies into a JSON format, which is compatible with the Venn admin interface.

Exporting from Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, type chrome://policy.
  3. Click the 'Export Policies' button.
  4. Save the JSON file to your desired location.

Exporting from Edge

  1. Open Edge.
  2. In the address bar, type edge://policy.
  3. Click the 'Export Policies' button.
  4. Save the JSON file to your desired location.
