Run Workplace Diagnostics

The Workplace desktop apps have a built-in diagnostics utility named Workplace Diagnostics.  

This utility will generate a ZIP file with logs from multiple sources and will help your Workplace support team to get to the root cause of most Workplace related issues.

Workplace Diagnostics for Windows

When Workplace is Running and Signed-in

  1. Open Workplace for Windows and sign-in with valid credentials.
    You may be required to verify the sign in by completing the multifactor authentication on your mobile device.
  2. Click Settings in the sidebar.
  3. Click Get logs.
    A file will be saved on the with the following naming format: workplace-diagnostics-YYYYMMDD-HHmmss.zip

When Workplace Is Unable to Run

  1. Open File Explorer/Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Workplace\
  2. Locate and run the WorkplaceDiagnostics.exe application.
    A file will be saved on the desktop with the following naming format: workplace-diagnostics-YYYYMMDD-HHmmss.zip

Workplace Diagnostics for macOS

When Workplace is Running and Signed-in

  1. Open Workplace for macOS and sign-in with valid credentials.
    You may be required to verify the sign in by completing the multifactor authentication on your mobile device.
  2. Click Settings in the top right corner of Workplace for macOS.
    Workplace will open Workplace preferences.

  3. Click Save logs files for troubleshooting.
    A file will be saved on the with the following naming format: workplace-diagnostics-YYYYMMDD-HHmmss.zip

When Workplace Is Unable to Run

  1. Launch Finder.
  2. In the Apple menubar, click Go and select Go to Folder... (or use the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘G).
  3. Type in the following folder path and click Go:
    /Applications/Workplace.app/Contents/Library/Diagnostics/
  4. Double-click the WorkplaceDiagnostics.app application.
    A file will be saved on the with the following naming format: workplace-diagnostics-YYYYMMDD-HHmmss.zip
