Uninstall Venn from Your Computer

If you no longer plan to use a computer with Venn downloaded for work or if you need to reinstall Venn, you may want to uninstall Venn's Workplace app from the device.

In order to uninstall Workplace, you must have access to an Administrator account on your PC or Mac. If you do not have access to this account, please reach out to your IT department.

Uninstall Venn from Your Windows Device

To uninstall the Workplace app from your Windows device:

  1. Go to Start on your Windows device.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Apps, then Apps & features.
  4. Select Workplace.
  5. Click Uninstall.

Once you uninstall Workplace, we recommend that you restart the computer.

Uninstall Venn from Your Mac Device

Delete the Workplace App

To automatically uninstall the Workplace app from your Mac:

  1. Sign out of Venn.
  2. Open Finder and navigate to the Applications folder.
  3. Drag Workplace.app to the Trash.
    You will be prompted for administrator credentials.
Deleting the Workplace app will not fully uninstall Workplace for Mac. If you plan to reinstall the app or if you want to fully uninstall the Workplace app, follow the steps below to do so manually.

Manually Uninstall Workplace

To fully uninstall Workplace for Mac:

  1. Open Finder and navigate to the Applications folder.
  2. Launch the Terminal application.
  3. Copy and run the following command.
    python3 /Applications/Workplace.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.py
  4. The script will prompt for administrator credentials.  Enter your password and press return.

Workplace for Mac will be fully uninstalled once the script exits cleanly.

If Terminal returns a message indicating that Python is not installed, run the following command instead.

sudo /bin/bash /Applications/Workplace.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh

The script will prompt for administrator credentials. Enter your password and press return and the script will complete running. Workplace for Mac will be fully uninstalled once the script exits cleanly.

Once you uninstall Workplace, we recommend that you restart the computer.

If you are having trouble reinstalling Workplace on a device where you previously had Workplace installed, you may need to delete residual files, which can interfere with the installation process. You can use a tool such as Revo Uninstaller to remove residual files.
