Rolling Out Now The Mac indicator for Blue Border apps in the dock is rolling out now and will be enabled for all customers by November 23, 2026.
On a Mac, it can be hard for users to tell which apps they have open inside vs outside Blue Border at any one time. Now, apps running inside Blue Border show a blue indicator in the Dock so users can tell at a glance.
What's New
On Mac, Apple shows an indicator for open apps on the Dock. Now, apps running inside Blue Border will show with a blue indicator in the Dock, and apps running outside Blue Border will continue to show the default indicator.
The blue indicator is for display only. It doesn't change how apps open, run, or close.
Get Started
Once released, the blue indicator will appear automatically under the Dock icon of any app running inside Blue Border. There's nothing to configure.

Known Limitations
- The dot can be hard to see on some desktop backgrounds. Turning on Reduce transparency in macOS Accessibility settings makes it easier to see.
- The dot can take a few seconds to appear or disappear when an app opens or closes, and may sit about 1 pixel off at some Dock sizes.
- The indicator uses color only. It has no other labels or cues.
