July 1, 2026: Coming to Blue Border on Mac: a clearer setup experience and new browser controls

We're rolling out two improvements for Mac users in Blue Border. Both come straight from customer feedback and make Blue Border smoother to set up and easier to use day to day. There's nothing for you to configure — both appear for Mac users in Blue Border automatically.

A Redesigned macOS Permissions Guide

When Mac users first install Blue Border, they need to grant a few system permissions for it to run as expected. We rebuilt the guide that walks them through these steps based on user feedback. The guide now includes plain-language instructions and clear, annotated screenshots showing exactly what to click. Users can easily track their progress, and the guide advances automatically once each permission is granted — making for a faster, more reliable first-time setup.

The improved guide will appear automatically when your users set up Blue Border on a Mac.

Choose Your Default Browsers on Mac

Mac users told us they wanted more control over which browser opens their links inside and outside Blue Border, so we added the ability to set default browsers. A new Default Browsers tab in Blue Border Settings lets users pick which browser opens links inside Blue Border (Chrome or Edge are supported) and which opens links outside it (any browser installed on the device).

The new tab appears automatically in Settings for Mac users, who will also see a one-time in-app announcement introducing the feature.
