We heard from Mac users that they wanted more control over which browser opened their links inside and outside Blue Border, so we built the ability to set default browsers on Mac.
What's New
A new Default Browsers tab in Blue Border Settings lets Mac users pick which browser opens links inside and outside Blue Border.
- Inside Blue Border: Choose from Blue Border's supported browsers (Chrome and Edge).
- Outside Blue Border: Choose from any browser installed on your device.
We recommend choosing different default browsers for inside and outside of Blue Border so there's no need to switch back and forth. User can choose the same browser for both, but they'll see a warning if they do.
Blue Border still uses "Workplace Web Launcher" as the default web browser in Mac System Settings so that links open in the correct context. If users change their default browser in Mac System Settings, Blue Border updates your choice in your Blue Border settings and prompts you to resets the System Setting back to "Workplace Web Launcher" so links keep routing correctly.
Get Started
The new Default Browsers tab appears automatically in Blue Border Settings for end users on Macs. Users will be notified about the new feature via an in-app notification.
Availability
The Default Browser setting is only available for Mac users.
