Release Note May 7, 2025: Introducing the Ability to Set the Idle Session Timeout Limit by Group

As a Company Manager, you can set the idle session timeout limit for Venn's desktop app in Company Management. This setting controls how long a user can be idle before they are automatically logged out of Blue Border.

Historically, Company Managers could set an idle session timeout limit for their company. Now, based on customer feedback, we have introduced the ability for Company Managers to set an idle session timeout limit by group as well.

The group limit will override the company setting for any users who belong to that group. Learn how to adjust the default idle session limit for your company.

To adjust the idle session limit for a group:

  1. Navigate to login.venn.com and sign in with valid credentials.
    You may be required to verify the sign-in by completing the multi-factor authentication on your mobile device.
  2. Click Company admin or Manage > Company admin.

  3. Click View all settings.

  4. Click Groups.

  5. Click on a group name.

  6. Click Security options at left and click Edit at the bottom of the page.

  7. Input the number of minutes you would like to set as the idle session timeout in the field labeled Native Windows or Mac session expires after idling and click Save changes.
    • Enter 0 to use the default value of 600 minutes (10 hours).
    • The maximum value is 525600 minutes (365 days).
