When you open a file from the cloud, a version is stored in cache on Venn Disk for you to work on. For most Windows users, the C: Drive (the default location for Venn Disk) has sufficient space to store these cached files.
However, if you routinely work with large files, you may find that your C: Drive doesn't have adequate space to store these cached files. As a Windows user, you can change the location of the Venn Disk to a larger drive if needed.
Change the Location of Venn Disk
To change the location of Venn Disk on your Windows device:
- Click Settings in the bottom left of the navigation menu.
- Click the path that Is displayed below Venn Disk saving location.
- By default, this will be C:\ProgramData\Workplace\Content
- In the popup that appears, select a new location for Venn Disk.
- Click OK.
- If there is not enough space in the new location, the following message will be displayed.
- Clicking Cleanup space will open the Storage section of the Windows Settings menu.
- Clicking Change location will bring you back to step 2 above.
- A pop up will appear. Click Logout now to apply the change immediately, or click Later to apply the change when you log back in at a later time.
- Upon re-login, a migration message will appear. All of the data stored in the previous location will be migrated to the new location automatically.
- If the necessary storage capacity is no longer available upon re-login the following message will be displayed.
- Clicking Cleanup space will open the Storage section of the Windows Settings menu.
- Clicking Change location will bring you back to step 2 above.
- If the necessary storage capacity is no longer available upon re-login the following message will be displayed.
New Location Full Error Message
After you have changed the location of Venn Disk, if there is no longer sufficient space available on the drive you selected, the following message will be displayed:
- Clicking Cleanup space will open the Storage section of the Windows Settings menu.
- Clicking Change location will bring you back to step 2 above.
If you see this message, you must take action to either create sufficient space in the current location of Venn Disk or choose another location with enough space in order to use Venn.
