When you install Venn’s Blue Border™, a virtual, encrypted, local drive is created on your device called Venn Disk. This is where all of the data related to the applications you use in Blue Border will live. Venn Disk is only accessible when you’re logged into Venn.
Work Application Profiles
When you launch an app locally for the first time using Blue Border, Venn creates a unique and separate profile for that application, which is stored on Venn Disk.
The first time you access an app from Venn, it will be like you are accessing the app for the very first time. The app will open with default settings from the app developer and you may need to sign in and configure the application to meet your needs.

Secure File Access
Venn Disk is also the place where you can securely access the file systems that your company uses to store files. By restricting access to your company’s cloud-based file system to this virtual, encrypted, local drive, your work files are securely stored and cannot be compromised if something happens to your device or a bad actor gains access to it.
When working in Blue Border, you will store files in OneDrive, Google Drive (Windows Only), or Venn's proprietary file system, Workplace Drive. When you open a file from one of these cloud storage locations, a version is stored in cache on Venn Disk for you to work on.
- On Windows, you can access your Workplace Drive, OneDrive, or Google Drive folders within the Venn Disk (V:) drive under This PC in File Explorer.
- On Mac, you can access your Workplace Drive or OneDrive folders under Locations in the Finder.
If your company uses another cloud-based file storage solution such as Box or Dropbox or if you use Google Drive on a Mac, Workplace Drive will be your default file system in Blue Border. You can download files from the web portal for your company's file system to Workplace Drive to work on them and upload files that they have saved to Workplace Drive to your company's file system.

Venn Disk Storage Space
Venn Disk requires sufficient storage space to store your work application profiles and cached files from your cloud storage solution.
Venn keeps track of how much storage these items require and how much available storage you have on your computer. If your computer has low remaining disk space available, you will receive a warning.
If you don’t have enough available storage, you can optimize how you’re using your storage so that you have enough to use Venn. Try these tips for your Windows or Mac computer.
If you routinely work with large files, you may find that your C: Drive on your Windows device (the default location for Venn Disk) doesn't have adequate space to store these cached files. As a Windows user, you can change the location of the Venn Disk to a larger drive if needed.
