As a Company Manager, you can already control which websites your users can reach inside Blue Border through Web & DNS Filtering. Now you can block unapproved consumer AI tools — or "shadow AI" — without building or maintaining a URL list yourself.
What's New
The new AI Access Policy blocks hundreds of consumer AI tools inside Blue Border with the click of the button. Venn leverages a continuously updated AI tool database trusted by industry leaders that includes household names like Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Meta AI, as well as dozens of tools you've likely never heard of.
Toggle the policy On and everything in the list is blocked by default, including new tools as they come to market. Expand a category to allow an entire category or an individual tool.
Coverage includes all Blue Border browser sessions plus native-app access for Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini.
Get Started
Once released, the AI Access Policy will appear on the Data Loss Prevention Policy Admin page in the Admin Portal. We recommend reviewing the categories with your security team before turning the policy on, so that any AI tools your organization has already approved stay available to users.
Availability
The AI Access Policy is available for all Blue Border customers and applies to users on Windows and Mac.
FAQ
Will this change anything for my users right away?
No. The AI Access Policy will arrive set to Off. Nothing is blocked until a Company Manager turns it on.
Does the list of AI tools stay current?
Yes. The list comes from a third-party database of consumer AI tools and is updated continuously. New tools are added automatically and are blocked by default while the policy is on.
Can I block everything except a few approved tools?
Yes. Turn the policy on, then deselect the individual tools you want to allow.
