Announcement March 27, 2026: Known Issues: Blue Border for macOS & iOS 26.4

Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.4 this week, and the update introduced disruptive system-wide changes affecting multiple third-party applications. Thanks to advance testing, our engineering team resolved the most significant of these issues before they could reach Blue Border users.

The final release did, however, include a last-minute Keychain security change on macOS and iOS (CVE-2026-28864) that wasn't disclosed until release day. This change is causing intermittent issues for Venn users on Mac computers and iPhones/iPads that we are now working to address.

Fixes are anticipated during the week of Monday, March 30, 2026.

Recommended Actions

macOS

Share the message below with your Mac users to advise them not to update to macOS Tahoe 26.4 until further notice.

Additionally, if you have an Operating System Auto Update Compliance Check in place, follow these instructions to change the check to Recommended to avoid preventing users from logging in if they have already updated.

Please share the following with your Mac users:

Apple recently released macOS Tahoe 26.4, which is currently incompatible with Venn. If you use a Mac for work, please turn off automatic updates and do not update your computer to macOS Tahoe 26.4.

Turn off automatic macOS updates:

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen to open the Apple menu.
  2. Click System Settings.
  3. On the General settings page, click Software Update.
  4. Click the icon next to Automatic Updates.
  5. Toggle off Install macOS updates and click Done.
  6. If prompted, enter your device password or authenticate using Touch ID.

When prompted, do not update to macOS Tahoe 26.4 until we notify you.

If you have already updated to macOS Tahoe 26.4, you will likely be able to continue working normally. However, please contact us if you experience unexpected behavior logging in to Blue Border or launching apps, files, or folders inside or outside of Blue Border after you do so. We’ll connect you with Venn’s support team to ensure any issues are resolved quickly.

iOS

If your users use the Workplace mobile app for iOS, we also recommend sharing the message below with your iOS users to advise them not to update to iOS 26.4 until further notice.

Additionally, if you have a mobile Operating System Auto Update Compliance Check in place, follow these instructions to change the check to Recommended to avoid preventing users from logging in if they have already updated.

Please share the following with your Workplace mobile app for iOS users:

Apple recently released iOS 26.4, which is currently incompatible with Venn’s mobile app. If you use the Workplace mobile app for work on your iOS, please turn off automatic updates and do not update your phone to iOS 26.4.

Turn off automatic iOS updates:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Software Update.
  4. Tap Automatic Updates.
  5. Toggle off Download iOS Updates and Install iOS Updates.
  6. If prompted, enter your device password or authenticate using Face or Touch ID.

When prompted, do not update to iOS 26.4 until we notify you.

If you have already updated to iOS 26.4, you will likely be able to continue working normally. However, please contact us if you are unable to access the Workplace app after updating and need temporary access to your work outside of the Workplace app on mobile.

Known Issues

The following issues are appearing sporadically.

macOS: Users prompted to log in to apps each time they launch them

Some users may be prompted to log back in to work apps each time they open them inside Blue Border.

We recognize that repeated logins can create friction in users' workdays, and we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Status: As of March 28, 2026, we have a fix ready that our engineering team is currently testing.

macOS: Meeting links not opening when logged out of Blue Border

If a user is logged out of Blue Border and clicks a link to join a meeting outside of Blue Border, the meeting may not open. This issue may affect video and voice calling applications (Zoom, Teams, Slack, etc.).

If this is posing a problem for your users, please connect them with Venn's support team so that we can walk them through a short-term workaround until this issue is resolved.

Status: As of March 28, 2026, we have a fix ready that our engineering team is currently testing.

macOS: Users unexpectedly logged out of Blue Border mid-session

Some users may be unexpectedly logged out of Blue Border mid-session—typically within a few minutes of launching apps inside Blue Border. If this occurs, users will see the Workplace sign-in window and may be prompted to allow keychain access.

We recognize how disruptive an unexpected logout can be, and we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. If users report this, advise them to log back in and allow any keychain access prompts when they appear.

Status: This issue was identified by our engineers on March 27, 2026. We are currently investigating a fix.

iOS: Workplace Mobile App crashing

Some users who updated their iPhones/iPads to iOS 26.4 are also experiencing crashes with the Workplace mobile app. The app closes immediately after a brief white loading screen.

We know that some of our users rely on the Workplace mobile app, and we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Status: This issue was reported on March 25, 2026. We are currently testing a fix.
