Release Note March 20, 2026: Box File System Integration Now Available in Blue Border

Venn integrates with cloud file storage solutions to enable secure access and data protection for your company's files.

We're pleased to share that we now have a Box file system integration available in Venn's Blue Border. Venn's integration with Box allows Windows users to access, open, work on, save, and delete files from Box seamlessly from their File Explorer when they are working in Blue Border.

The Box file system integration is currently only available for Windows. If you have Mac users, we recommend that users save their offline files to Venn Disk temporarily and then back them up to Box in their browser.

Venn's new Box file system integration is currently only available upon request. If your company currently uses Box for file storage, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you would like access to the integration. Once the integration is available, you can enable access to Box in Blue Border following these instructions and share instructions with your end users.

As we're finalizing this integration, there are several outstanding issues that our development team is working to resolve:

  • An error occurs if a user signs in to Venn while Box is already running outside Blue Border. When the user goes to access Box inside Blue Border, Box Drive may be read-only or unavailable.
  • The Box context menus that users typically see when they right click a file saved to Box in File Explorer aren't currently appearing in Blue Border.

  • Occasionally the blue border from other work windows can overlay Box windows.

Once these pending issues are resolved, the Box integration will be available for all customers.
