Launch Mobile Apps and Websites in Workplace
Your device needs to be compliant to launch work web apps on Android and iOS. For example, if your device is marked as Unknown, the device is considered non-compliant and you will not be able to launch websites. You will see a gray cloud over each website link when they are unavailable to launch.
Please reach out to your company manager or IT if you need help remediating an issue.
Tap Apps at the bottom of the Workplace screen. Here you will see:
- Installed Apps (iOS only): These are mobile apps you installed after onboarding Workplace.
- Favorites: Your favorite work apps and websites that you already starred in the Workplace for Windows and macOS app are listed here.
- All Apps: These are all apps and websites, listed in alphabetical order, that have been provisioned to you by your company and are available to use. In the example below, there are 60 apps and websites made available by the company to use for work (not all listed here).
Tap a mobile app to launch, and you are offered the choice to open it in:
- The default browser (mobile or web apps), or
- In the locally installed app (mobile apps). If you have not yet installed the app, you will be prompted to do so. The app will install in the background while you work (see installation sections above).
NOTE: You don't have to launch your Work apps from within Workplace LocalZone™ after you install them. You can open Work apps from your home screen (iOS) or open your app drawer and tap the Work Profile tab (Android).
Tap a website, and it will automatically launch in the managed default browser assigned by your company. You are unable to access your SAML and SSO work accounts on mobile outside of LocalZone™.
