Venn’s integration with OneDrive allows users to access, open, work on, save, and delete files from OneDrive seamlessly from their File Explorer or Finder when they are working in Blue Border. Learn how to use OneDrive with Venn as an end user: Windows resource, Mac resource.
As a Company Manager, you can enable the use of OneDrive in Blue Border for all users as part of your Default Data Loss Prevention Policy or for a subset of users as a Policy Override by completing the following steps:
Enable OneDrive File Storage
As a Company Manager, you can configure which file storage solution(s) are available for use in Blue Border using the File Storage Data Loss Prevention Policy. Under this policy, you can determine which file systems are available to users and the default save and download locations for users' documents.
To enable OneDrive File Storage for users as part of your default DLP Policy or a Policy Override:
- Navigate to the Admin Portal.
- In your browser, go to https://login.venn.com/ and sign in if prompted. Then, click Open Admin Portal.
- From the desktop app, click the
Open web app icon. Then, click Company Admin in the top right.
- Click Policy Admin and select DLP Policy in the left menu.
- Locate the policy you would like to change or add.
- To update your default policy, look under Default policy.
- To update an override policy, click
Edit to the right of the override record under Policy overrides.
- To create a new policy override, click Add override to the right of Policy overrides.

Click
Edit next to File storage.
- In the policy editor, locate OneDrive and toggle it On. This will reveal OneDrive configuration options.

In order to enable the use of OneDrive in Blue Border, you must specify a tenant name and ID. Venn uses your organization’s tenant information to ensure that traffic from your users’ computers can connect to the company's tenant and to map OneDrive within your users’ File Explorer or Finder. You can obtain your organization's tenant information by following the instructions in this article.
- Type or paste your tenant name and ID into the provided fields.
- Click Add.
- When you enable OneDrive, it will automatically be selected as the default save and download location under Set file storage default. We recommend using OneDrive as your primary save and download location if OneDrive will be the primary file system for the users that the policy applies to.
- Click Apply.
Once you apply your changes, the following will happen for users that the policy applies to:
- OneDrive will be authorized for use in Blue Border.

The OneDrive desktop application will be assigned to them in Blue Border.
This policy will assign the appropriate app to users. Do not assign the application from the All apps page in Company Admin. - The OneDrive virtual drive will be mapped as a folder inside of Venn Disk.
- The OneDrive app will launch automatically when the user logs in to Blue Border, similar to how some apps are set to automatically run when you log into a computer.

Enable Microsoft 365 Account Access
As a Company Manager, you can enable users to access Microsoft 365 accounts in Blue Border using the Tenant Restrictions Data Loss Prevention Policy. Under this policy, you can determine whether or not users can access Microsoft 365 and restrict access to specific business domains.
To enable Microsoft 365 account access for users as part of your default DLP Policy or a Policy Override:
- Navigate to the Admin Portal.
- In your browser, go to https://login.venn.com/ and sign in if prompted. Then, click Open Admin Portal.
- From the desktop app, click the
Open web app icon. Then, click Company Admin in the top right.
- Click Policy Admin and select DLP Policy in the left menu.
- Locate the policy you would like to change or add.
- To update your default policy, look under Default policy.
- To update an override policy, click
Edit to the right of the override record under Policy overrides.
- To create a new policy override, click Add override to the right of Policy overrides.

Click
Edit next to Tenant restrictions.
- In the policy editor, expand Microsoft 365 and choose Allow access with specific business accounts.
- Click Add tenant details.

Specify a tenant name and ID and click Add. You can obtain your organization's tenant information by following the instructions in this article.
- Click Apply.
Once you apply your changes, the users that the policy applies to will be able to log in to their Microsoft 365 account in order to use OneDrive in Blue Border.
