Tenant Restrictions Now Cover ChatGPT and Claude

You can now specify which ChatGPT and Claude accounts your users are allowed to sign in with inside Blue Border. Choose Do not allow access to prevent users from signing in to these tools, or choose Allow access with specific business accounts to specify exactly which accounts users can log in to inside Blue Border.

A Redesigned and Renamed Policy Page

The Account access Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy is now called Tenant restrictions, a name that better matches how our customers talk about limiting access to software suites. The updated page also groups tools into categories, flags which AI tools are included in a productivity suite, and notes where a specific plan level is required to apply restrictions.

Get Started

On September 15, both settings will appear in the Tenant restrictions policy on the Data Loss Prevention Policy Admin page in the Admin Portal.

Availability

These new settings will be available for all Blue Border customers, and apply to users on Windows and Mac.

Known Limitations

One thing to note about how this works for end users when access is blocked or restricted:

• Claude prevents users from logging in if access is blocked or if the user attempts to sign in with an account that doesn't match the organization ID provided in the Tenant restrictions policy.
• If access is blocked or if the user attempts to sign in with an account that doesn't match the organization ID provided in the Tenant restrictions policy, ChatGPT does not block sign-in for restricted accounts, it ChatGPT blocks all requests after sign-in instead. If they attempt to access with a restricted account, the user will find that the app doesn't respond without an error message. This is a limitation on ChatGPT's side and there is no workaround.

FAQ

Will this change anything for my users right away?

No. Both settings will arrive set to Allow access with any account. Nothing changes for your users until a Company Manager configures them.

What happens to the policy I already have configured?

Your existing Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 settings carry over unchanged. Only the name and layout of the page have changed.
