Announcement April 10, 2026: Windows Smart App Control Blocking Access to Workplace for Some Users

Current Status: Issue identified, fix in progress, workaround available

We have received several reports from Windows users that the Windows Smart App Control feature is blocking access Venn’s Workplace app. This issue is only impacting a subset of Windows users.

We have identified the issue and a fix is in progress. In the meantime, if any of your users are unable to access the Workplace app, we recommend sharing the instructions below with them to temporarily disable the Windows Smart App Control feature. We’ve seen this quick fix work for the isolated cases that have been reported so far.

How to turn off Smart App Control in Windows Security App settings:

  1. Go to the Start menu and search for "Windows Security."
  2. In the Windows Security app, select App & browser control.
  3. Click Smart App Control settings.
  4. Turn Off Smart App Control.

Note: If you see a warning that Windows needs to be reinstalled to turn Smart App Control back on, click Cancel and do not proceed. Contact Venn’s support team for further troubleshooting.
