Uninstalled Apps

Each app must be installed on your computer in order to access it using Blue Border. You may notice that some apps in your list appear with a brown download icon. This icon indicates that the app cannot be detected on your computer by Venn. Typically, this means that you need to download the app before you can use it on your computer. Open Work Files in Blue Border

When working in Blue Border, you will store files in your company's chosen cloud storage solution. Venn has Windows integrations with OneDrive, Google Drive, and Venn's proprietary file system, Workplace Drive.

Work and Personal Use on the Same Computer

We know that work and life overlap and that there is rarely a complete separation of work and personal time in our modern interconnected world—people use the same device to listen to music from their personal library while working during the day, check work email while online shopping in the evening, and more. Blue Border was designed to isolate and protect work activity from personal use on the same computer. Learn more about how Blue Border works.

Any work apps, websites, or files that you open from Blue Border will have a blue border around them. This indicates that these applications are open in a company-controlled Secure Enclave on your Windows PC.

Blue Border and Badge_Windows.png

Applications that you open outside of Blue Border (for example, from the Start menu or your Desktop) are personal and will open without a blue border. They are completely isolated from work applications, almost as though they were running on separate computers.

You can even have the same application open inside and outside of Blue Border at the same time. For example, you can have Google Chrome open with a blue border for work and have Google Chrome open without a blue border for personal use at the same time.

Venn does not monitor, track, access, or record any of your personal data or activities, including private personal information, browsing activities, and personal files. Learn more about how Venn protects your privacy.

Your Company's Policies

For example, your company may set a policy that ensures that anything you download from the internet while working in Blue Border will automatically be saved in a secure folder.

Policies with a lock to the left of them are current restrictions that your company has in place. These policies only apply in Blue Border.

If there is a lock to the left of Screen sharing & capture in your list of Data Loss Prevention Policies, the ability share, record, or capture your work apps, websites, and files open in Blue Border is blocked or restricted. However, if enabled by your company, you can use the Share window... link below to override the policy to share a window if needed.
